Season 5 DVD?
Have/will they release the rest of the seasons?
Shout Factory has said they will be releasing season five this year, although a specific date has not been announced.

Shout's website has all their upcoming releases listed thru to June, and there's no mention of Newhart there. I'm becoming more pessimistic about future releases, but I hope I'm wrong.
Designing Women (also released by Shout) had a 15 month delay between seasons 4 and 5 (sep 2010, dec 2011) so anything is possible. The three final seasons came along quickly after that.

I hope so. It's my favorite season. The show was at its apex here. Its decline began(slightly) with season 6 although there was still many good episodes remaining.
shareI just sent an e-mail to SHOUT! Factory regarding future seasons of Newhart, and they told me to contact Fox since they control seasons 5-8. I would recommend everyone who reads this to send 20th Century Fox an email requesting that they allow the remaining seasons of Newhart to be released.

I would not hold my breath on Fox releasing future seasons. They issued the first season and then stopped and it took Shout Factory to get us seasons 2, 3, and 4. Shout Factory also had to rescue "The Bob Newhart Show" after Fox ceased issuing later seasons on DVD. Fox also has had a reputation for being very skittish about releasing shows on DVD unless it was very obvious doing so would turn a profit.
It doesn't look very good at this point and that is a real shame.
Well, apparently Shout! Factory worked something out because I just found this. Man I hope we get a complete series box set soon.
