I met the Other Darryl, the blond one, at a Nostalgia Convention a few years ago in California ! He was sooooooooooooooo nice ! And CUTE in real life...I guess the wardrobe and make up depts. did a great job making him look goofy
shareI got to hear him speak recently on a Newhart anniversary special that is showing on You Tube. Bob was there too as well as Julia Duffy and William Sanderson. Peter scolari and the first brother Darryl weren't included though. The first brother Daryl is on a Password episode though also featured on You Tube. He talks quite a bit!

Ironically, just before Newhart 'Darryll #2', AKA John Volstad, was on a civil war miniseries called the Blue & Grey, along with Julia Duffy in a serious part if you can believe it. Even tragic; she played a young woman who lived near the Gettysburg battlefield, who was killed in her own kitchen by a freak stray bullet that came right through the door. Based on a real incident. The original house is still there, and so is the bullet hole in the door.
They weren't a couple; she was married to Stacey Keach in the movie. Here's a gorgeous picture.
