Kirk Out, Michael In

I just watched Book Beat, in which Dick takes over the talk show from another fellow.

Peter Scolari makes his first appearance as Michael and what was truly interesting is he did the same thing here with Kirk, taking over as the eccentric male character.

What was most telling was during Kirk's café commercial, he throws the ketchup and mustard bottles and there was just no reason for him to do that.

I had to totally laugh at the end with Newhart, when he's interviewing the guy about dinosaurs, aliens and government conspiracies and Newhart ends the show.

"Four more minutes, Mr. Loudin."

"Not for me," Dick says. I was laughing.

Other great moments from that episode:

"Why this woman is on her fourth burger! Yes, a perfectly attractive woman wiling to eat herself into obesity with my burgers!"

Leading up to that commercial break Dick says in that classic Bob Newhart stammer:

"Don't go away....not...not...that you would...."

That's what made 'Not for me' so funny.

The man was known for his hesitations and stammers, but when he said that 'not for me' he meant it. LOL!
