I'm not tech-savvy, so forgive my ignorance here, but does the Blu-Ray format really do much for these older shows? If anything, does it only serve expose their cosmetic "flaws" (f/x, sets etc.). I know it says that it's re-mastered, but is that just lipstick on a pig?
Don't get me wrong, I love these shows, but I'm just curious if there's any real benefit to the hi-def treatment for them.
I'm not tech savvy either but Knight Rider was filmed in 35mm that is naturally 4K like any movie filmed with it. The original DVD's were done by using the original first generation aired tapes I believe while the new Blu-Ray & new DVD's are using the original shooting cameras film or something like that Universal recently scanned and put together.
It is only shows that were done on tape that could never be better than the DVD's it has. Which I think used the original master tapes that are below regular film quality.
Awesome, thank you for the answer. I didn't pick up KR the first time around and plan to this time. Making the choice for Blu-Ray (which I did recently with the re-release of the original Star Trek series) much easier.
shareI can't wait for this its awesome that its going to be remastered I wonder if it will have tons of features and also if it will have the 6 2 Hour Movies as two parts as well because I know a few people that happen to like them spit up because it adds more episodes and is better when they do a marathon.
