Baywatch as a sequel to Knight Rider

Michael Knight was seriously injured in a crash that left KITT stuck under the sea by the California coast. When the Knight Foundation found Michael they were unable to lift KITT from its watery grave. Michael, distraught over the loss of KITT, agreed to have his memory temporarily wiped and was given the new identity of Mitch Buchannon, local lifeguard. He would assume this guise until KITT could be lifted from the water one day. It was also at this time that he discovered he and Bonnie, years earlier, had become parents of a son named Hobart. Michael hated the name, and decided to raise him as "Hobie" instead. For the next several years, "Mitch" lived with the implanted memories of a man who loved lifeguarding. Finally, in the early 2000s, with Hobie grown, and Kitt raised from the sea, Michael Knight could live again, but he would never forget his years on the beach.

Yes, this should be canon.

I, too, enjoy viewing two different shows with the same actor and pretending that the character had amnesia or went through the witness protection program or something.
