shareNot sure which episode you mean, but it wouldn't be a surprise that Cars 2 stole a plot from Knight Rider since the original Cars stole the plot almost beat for beat from Doc Hollywood.

It's a Larson production, so i wouldn't be surprised if they had a stock of script ideas they used for each show. just cross out 'Starbuck' and write KITT. Cars2 borrows a lot from popular culture, like James Bond and Fast & Furious, ie not exclusively KR. Pity Pixar didn't have a black pontiac based character...
