'Trust Doesn't Rust' is like the best possible episode to show someone that has never seen the show, it's the epitome of what Knight Rider is all about, it has the best action, most beautiful twin-pontiac chases, the most amazing, mysterious and threatening moments (the lab, K.A.R.R. spying on the 'bad guys' and making its own decisions, Bonnie trying to escape/sabotage K.A.R.R., and did i mention the awesome chase sequences?)..
I can't do anything but shake my head, how anyone can bash this brilliant episode.. it's beyond my capability of understanding. Sure, people have different opinions, but this is to Knight Rider what Back to the Future is to movies - it's something I would choose to show a visiting E.T. to give a taste of this show, just as I would show Back to the Future to give a taste of what movies can be.
Just tell me you hate Back to the Future, too, and think it's the worst movie ever, then everything makes sense.
Don't listen to this non-capitalized name with numbers at the end - "ringfire211"? What kind of name is THAT? - watch the episode by yourself, and enjoy the exquisite, fun and exciting moments!
(It also has a unique 'K.A.R.R.-theme' that I really like, you never hear that song anywhere else - it's actiony, but yet threatening, and still energetic and fun, but you still hear from the song that something menacing is going on)
I also love K.A.R.R.'s personality, it's so arrogant, and yet so childish, and yet -fish-out-of-the-water- but yet powerful and knows what it wants.
The underwhelming, lackluster sequel's 'K.A.R.R.' is just some boring old man that wants to torture some young adults - boring.
The original K.A.R.R. knows what it wants and how to get it, and is a real threat, menace, and his introduction could NOT be more perfect - and the conclusion of the episode also couldn't be more atmospheric and philosophical - thinking about K.I.T.T. alone in the truck pondering about life and philosophy just sends chills to my spine.
