There were some silly episodes and this is near the top of my list..
They use this vehicle that looks totally goofy and has a battering ram on the front to knock down a toll booth. Way to over use your resources.
Oh and KITT. Gets beaten by a battering ram. What happened to his special bonded shell?
Didn't you pay attention? KITT was sprayed with that destabilizing chemical when he was parked in the street, just before this scene. This neutralized his molecular bonded shell. I thought that was a cool premise.

Still KITT gets destroyed a few times in the series. I thought the acid pit would not have worked but hey it did.

Once rc, or whatever his name is, came into the show it got more Stupid and corny. I couldn't stand him or his character. Plus he really served no purpose on the show.

That was really just to keep viewers interested by modifying the car a bit here and there.
By the way, does KITT eventually fly sort of on Super Pursuit Mode? I honestly can't watch anymore of Season 4 to know it for myself.
No. You'll be glad to know he can't fly, though the way the show was going I wondered if that would be next.
I stopped at season 3. My childhood memories intact.
But then in season 3 they had Kitt moving on water. Ugh
And, of course, as with regular pursuit mode in the previous seasons, all the roads are just totally cleared away so Michael & KITT never hurt or kill anyone. Yeah right. Wish my traffic were always that clear!
At any rate, instead of that stupid SPM, they should have finally made KITT become a flying car! Of course, that would have broken the budget.
