"We're not in love anymore." Yeah, right!

I thought it was so sad how Alex cheated on Lauren and humiliated her with that kooky girl, Marty.

All she could do in that situation was try to save face and break up with him before he had a chance to break up with her.

The only saving grace was that Courtney Cox gave the best performance of her run on the show, her hurt with his out of nowhere betrayal showing up all over her face.

He should have been a LOT more remorseful of how he threw their nearly two year relationship away like that. It was I suppose in keeping with Alex's frequently self centered nature but it robbed me the wrong way that he could show such disrespect for Lauren.

I would have liked it better if they mutually decided to see other people
and not have her hurt like that, it made him seem like a shallow jerk to treat her with such indifference as she was still so very much in love with him.

Thoughts???

I don't think he fully cheated. He had feelings & was conflicted, but I don't think he slept with her. She was only gone a short time and he doesnt sleep around. Alex was not the type to start something up,until he broke it off, with other person. I also don't think he slept with the roommate of Ellen either.

I agree. Alex was always my favourite character but I was so mad at him for the way he treated Lauren and their relationship in those 2 episodes.
