five go mad... - main theme title music? (SOLVED)

does anyone know what is is called (and who wrote it)?

It's a very well-known tune and the kind of late 50's / early 60's thing you'd hear on public info films, etc.

it's also in Pixar's short film 'Tin Toy' , here's a link to it (in the tin toy film):

Many thanks in anticipation!!

Hi,

I think you may have linked to a topic in the "I Need To Know" board, but they expire after a while, so could you leave the answer for posterity on this board as well, please? You've peaked my curiosity.

I vaguely remember a catchy tune, but I haven't got my Box Set yet, and may not recognise it anyway.

Thanks! :)

sorry about that

The tune is called "Puffin' Billy" - it was also the theme tune to Captain Kangaroo

(and I seem to remember that it was the theme tune used for the author Enid Blyton's "The Famous Five")

Thanks for getting back!

I just got the DVD and watched it, so I was scratching my head even more.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the IMDb is deleeteing threads from message boards much faster than they used to. :(

you're welcome - i don't often go back to my old posts.

i certainly think posts are deleted faster than before!

You probably know this already, but just in case, if you wish to, you can go into your preferences and specify whether or not you want to be notified whenever there is a reply to one of your old posts.

It only works for replies to your specific posts, not to the whole thread, so you don't get swamped. But its handy if, for example, you ask a question.

Thanks again! :)
