I am curious to know the connection between Detectives On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown and Pie In The Sky. Did the writers of Detectives know that a show about a gourmet detective was planned? Did the writers of Pie decide to take the concept and run with it? Coincidence? Something else?
Anyone know?
I'm not sure but what I do know is - Detectives on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown used the main characters from an earlier comic strip episode - The *beep* which was a rip on The Professionals.
Character Dave Spanker was obviously based on Jimmy Nails Character Spender off the programme with the same name.
nevermind - on wiki it says that episode Was based on Pie in the sky which didn't come out till over 12months later, So my answer is I don't know.
