You know, I see both sides of the remake conundrum. Tribal tradition was an oral tradition where stories were passed down and retold, improving and revising.

On the other hand, MOST of the remakes are derivative crap that do nothing to enhance or improve the story, and there are too many coming out one after another simply to make studios guaranteed money.

I doubt Visiting Hours is a guaranteed moneymaker for the studios. It would have to be a fan director who just really wanted the project.

Anyway, I'm only half paying attention to what I'm writing, so cheers.

i agree w/ you egomonster, i don't love remakes yet i don't hate them. the only times i like seeing remakes is if its of one of my favorite horror movies from the past (friday the 13th texas chainsaw massacre, and sometimes i dont like them but i like to see another directors perspective) but what i really like seeing remakes of are obscure 80's horror movie not released to dvd yet, then it usually gets its long awaited dvd release and then the older generation and the newer generation are both happy :)

I would love to see them do a remake because I wrote the original. My accountant would love it as well. Brian Taggert

Making an "A-movie" out of this would ruin it. We have a habit of making remakes, which are supposed to be improvements upon the originals, into pieces of garbage. Look at The Ring, The Eye, Halloween (2, especially), Psycho, Planet of the Apes...the list goes on and I'm not going to waste your time or mine listing all of the ones I can think of.

And although I do feel need to mention that we do have a lot of great remakes, which I could also go on about, but for the most part we have a bunch of bummy remakes that should have never been made.

Classic movies like Total Recall need to be left alone, but bad films albeit with a good premise need a reboot.

I only watched this recently cause linda purl was in it.
Ironside carried the movie, and did a good job.
Linda was still pretty at this point, but her hair do was awful !

If a remake was done it would have to have the right actor play the killer
or it wouldnt be as good.

This movie for a low budget 82 movie was fairly good.
