Best Film Ever

2 World Wars and one World Cup.

Football is the true peacemaker.

I would vote for Casablanca for the best film ever though. There was a lot of similarities with Victory and Casablanca, though.

The best bit is in the tunnel, when trying to persuade Stallone to stay and one of the player says "its not as though we're being slaughtered!" 4-1 down at half time, Pele's had his arm broke so down to 10 men too, actually slaughtered sums it up pretty well

My favourite bit is the end when Sly Stallone turns round to Michale Caine and says 'I've got a job to do. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, Here's looking at you kid.'

To me this movie is the best celebration of football.
Bend it like Beckham, Goal, Hooligan and others are not as great as this one.
Football is the heart of the world, and so, any movie that celebrates it is by definition 50 times better than all other movies, at least :)

Maybe not the best film ever but definitely one of my all time favorites. Very very different film from the great, grand John Huston. Love every minute of it. How anyone can find it slow is beyond me. Can't believe people saying it's unrealistic either. It's just delicious escapism at it's best.
