Firstly I must say that heat is one of my favourite movies of time. I'm a fairly new fan of Michael Mann's work ever since I seen collateral.

I'd seen Heat years before when I was child but it went over my head back then and revisiting it years later gave me a new appreciation.

I'd also heard about "thief" and finally got to enjoy it last night. It's a great movie with superb performances from James Caan especially. I realised how talented he is after watching this movie.

Anyway the point of this thread is to highlight the possible trivia item that, in the movie Heat, De Niro drives a Cadillac en route to the airport and Kilmer drives a Corvette notably after his argument with Ashley Judd.

In the movie Thief, James Caan drives a Cadillac eldorado while his crew member and friend James Belushi drives a Corvette.

Yes I know this could be a coincidental point but as I'm realising there are few coincidences in Michael Mann's movies.

God will forgive them, he'll forgive them and allow them into heaven.I can't live with that.

Pretty cool. I hadn't made that connection. I agree that it's most likely not a coincidence.

I wonder if this is more of a product placement thing. GM supplies the cars, so they want the main character driving a new Caddy, and a secondary character with a new 'Vette.
