I found the entire premise of this movie utterly rediculous. A child in this movie was killed defending a military academy because it was being replaced with condos? If this occurred in real life it would rank as one of the greatest tragedies in the history of our country.
The reason I think this movie garners the attention it does is because it has an exceptionally great cast that went on to great careers such as Cruise, Hutton, and Penn while supported by very good established actors like Scott and Cox.
Overall, the premise of this movie is awful. Freedom, democracy, equality...these are things you fight and die for, not to stop yur military academy from being replaced by condos.
I really liked it.It was well-though out, and over the top(Which I like).
Also, given my age (16), I found it inspiring. I mean, we CAN make a difference. So long as we don't meet an untimely death...*cough* Moreland.
yo ho, yo ho...

It's OK, but not as good as you're selling it. The plot isn't meant to be taken literally ... it's sort of a modern urban "Lord of the Flies" allegory. And it's OK.

Plausibility issues aside I would agree it is a cracking good story well told.
Not a great film, but entertaining as hell.
I realize it's 10 years old but.....troll much?
