name that song!

Does anyone have any idea what the song is that's playing in the climatic scene - with Keith Carradine dancing, Powers Booth getting paranoid and filching the knife, and the Cajuns outside shooting the pigs and stringing them up? It's a wonderful song, and I've wondered for years what its name is so I could try and track it down.

Anyone?

I think it's Parlez-Nous a Bois (hope I spelled that right), by Dewey Balfa

sorry for taking a while to get back to this. Many thanks for that response. I appreciate it.

If you've seen Scorcese's 'Color of Money' you may have noticed the melody was thieved note-for-note (sorry, was an 'influence') for the chorus of the title song.

It's an excellent sounding song. I think the version in the movie sounds better than the one released by the Balfa Brothers.

"Parlez-nous à boire" is the correct spelling. I guess it means: Let's talk while drinking.
