Did Stallone borrow from this movie in First Blood?

The timing of the films, atmosphere, military themes, and fighting the locals in similar cinditions are rather striking. Personally, I enjoyed this film much more than FB as it wasn't a star vehicle picture and had much deeper overtones and more richer, complicated characters.

I think these movies are quite different. "Southern Comfort" is for sure the better movie.
