i really liked the score

for example right at the very beginning when it spanned the swamps. it was very atmospheric and such. i appreciate i'll never find a download of that. just wondered if anyone else liked it. i'm not really into the whole fiddle soundtrack but the score was good.

The scenery and the score were the two main reasons to watch this movie. But that's just my opinion.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

Another great piece of Americana by Ry Cooder (who did great work in the Long Riders). I think this move is the one that initially got me interested in Cajun music; Dewey Balfa was a legend of the genre. There's a CD called Music by Ry Cooder which is a compilation of his soundtrack music.

Ry Cooder composes excellent film scores, and this is just one of many. His solo albums are also excellent, as are his songs with the Buena Vista Social Club.

You can download it on amazon for £0.99 :) or buy a whole soundtrack of Ry Cooder New for £16.43 or used for £2.99

It´s a little reminiscent of Neil Young´s score in Dead Man, innit?

sorry, do you mean you can download the soundtrack from Amazon, or just a song by RY Cooder?

Cheers for info. I'd seen that album before but didn't realise it had Southern Comfort piece on it. Shame it's only the 3 minute opening music, but still, it's the original music and definitely worth getting. ciaran you have made my day!

odd you should say that. i just watched a double-bill of this and the big easy at the local independent cinema; the theme was "cajun/zydeco scores" O:
