Blessedly absent of the Spielberg sentimentality present in the other installments


No Short Round saying to Indy "Indy, I love you" or Indy saving a mine full of kids while William's super saccharine score blares.

No Indy and his father tearfully reconciling.

No Indy making amends with his son Mutt and getting married to Marion.

Nope, none of that.

Pre-"ET" Spielberg had precious little time for any of that.

Sure, "Raiders" gets plenty cheesy at times. But it never gets sentimental. It's, gloriously, hardly in touch with its emotions at all.
