About the ending (Obvious Spoilers)

Did it turn out Freudstein was a child or something? He was always crying like a child and then it had that quote at the end of it about is it "Are children monsters, or would monsters by children?" What also happened to Bob? Did he die? Or were the ghosts taking him with them? And what did the lady mean by treat him like a Freudstein?

reply

I always took it to mean that Bob *was* Dr. Freudstein after being taken back in time..he became him later on. The crying was always Bob's.

reply

Yes...he went back in time where his "daughter" is already born and the same age as him. I know it's a confusing mess, but I seriously don't understand how anyone can go for the "back in time" theory.

Bob is killed offscreen (not sure whether to be thankful for that or not lol!) and he's essentially in 'The Beyond' at the end with Freudstein's wife & daughter. At least that's what I heard Fulci said at some point.

Well I gotta say Fulci sure knows how to really let you down with his endings.
