I almost splooshed once they showed Dr. Freudstein. I love Halloween and am a geek when it comes to horror makeup/costumes. I have to say, the Doc and the gore were the only good parts about this movie. What an awesome-looking villain! I really, really want to be him at my next Halloween event.

I'm not quite sure what I think of this film yet. It's one of those that'll take a couple more viewings to decide for sure. I agree with you in regards to Dr. Freudstein and the gore, but the story was somewhat hard to follow and the characters weren't particularly interesting. But I may capture details of the story I might've missed when I watched it the first time and I may enjoy it more. I have a feeling it's one of those I just didn't get the first time and the next time it'll resonate more and I'll get more enjoyment out of it.

It is just horrible directing and writing typical of Fulci films. Only the gore and horror make up are redeeming qualities.
