I just know this is gonna be remade

Cant you just feel it? lol.

reply

i;ve never seen it but yes since they're remaking almost every horror flick from the 70's/80s

reply

yes i fear it will... which makes me really sad and angry.

I couldn't hear my own footsteps. It was the walk of a dead man.

I don't understand why people get so annoyed when movies are remade? there have been alot of good remakes.

reply

there have been a lot of good remakes

While yes there have been some enjoyable remakes throughout the years, the reason why many people get annoyed is that recently the movies being remade offer nothing in comparison to the originals.

They're often changed completely (remake in name only), change key plot elements that were vital to the original story, or just ignore the source material all together. That is why a lot of people get annoyed with remakes.

I for one will watch any remake to find that "diamond in the rough", if you will. Most of the time I find myself just wanting to watch the original. Finding that balance between flattery, and ignorance is rather hard. The suits behind these remakes know that they're audience will be those who love the originals, but from there they market towards teens, or in cases tweens, and find what will make a killing (insert rim-shot here) at the box office.

Because most people want to see something new...not a lame rehash of what's been done before. Every time you pay to see a remake, you are sending a message to the studios, asking for more reruns and fewer originals. Stop being part of the problem.

What? People want something new this coming from someone posting on a board for a type of movie that's known for knock off after knock off?

Sure it gets annoying when we get remake after remake, but its the same basic idea as a sequel. Cash in on the success of something and in the case of The Prowler cash in on the success of other movies like this one slasher flicks.

Let's do it to them before they do it to us.

reply

No they haven't

reply

Ssshhh!! (quiet please.)If we're lucky, Hollywood will not find this one.

BUT YEAH, you're right. It'll be remade at some point.

You were born a pig farmer.
You'll always BE a pig farmer.
And now, you will DIE a pig farmer.

If they remake it they should at least try to make it different from the original. They should make it better. They should change the killer's costume around too.

reply

I'm sure this will get remade. Pretty much every 70's or 80's horror film will get remade with the exception of Phantasm, and that's only because Don Coscarelli still wants to make Phantasm V.
