Pathetic Commentary

Nothing like three old, washed-up bleeding heart liberals, with no love or care for this movie, discussing its making.

The director and writer act as if they had no control over the movie. And Howard Hessemann sounds like a typical washed-up, "I'm not appreciated by the culturally deprived American public...the Europeans are so much more cultured than you guys."

And what is worse is when they have nothing to say, they turn to politics and bashing the current administration. I am no Republican...but there is a place and time for politics...and when discussing a teen-sex-flick, that isn't it.

Would love to know why Hessemann did this movie to begin with...or did the commentary. This movie was made during the heyday of WKRP in Cincinnati. I guess Johnny Fever didn't have many offers.

Couple the commentary with the Japanese edit version of the film and this is a piss-poor DVD release.

kinda funny the commentary about the movie...seems noone who worked on it-- really liked it the final film...though in 1981 it was a hit.

I saw this movie in the theatre when it was new, and remember it as being not bad for the first half or a bit over that, then going completely to crap from then on. Most people were just happy to have it end and try to get out of the theatre without being noticed.

The short period where Eric thought Nicole was dead was awesome. He's supposed to be "in love" and before she's even cold he's stuffing her carcass in a freezer. Romeo and Juliet they aren't. Come on, Ed Begley JR. was great, "I believe she was homicided." lol It's sooo bad.

Also I am impressed that you saw this movie when it was new. I was negative 1, and I can only hope in 2036 I'll be on some movie website still writing about the time I saw "The Animal" with Rob Schneider.
