I get the impression even though she faked dying in bed that she had fallen for the kid. Anyone else agree?

Yes, I agree. I think she felt something for him, which is why she did what she did after faking her own death.

I think Nicole fell for Phillip as well. He was basically a sweet kid who treated her with respect.
