Could you imagine the outrage if this was a 15 year old girl with a 30 yr old butler?

Definite double standard. This movie is full out about the molesting of a teenage boy. But you are right, take the 15 year old boy and 30 year old woman and switch roles with it being your 15 year old daughter and a 30 year old man and see if everybody thinks the movie is as great.

Well the 1962 Peter Sellers movie toned down the sexual aspect quite a bit.

There was Brooke Shields in 'Pretty Baby' who played a 12 year old prostitute sleeping with old men. They didn't show anything sexual like they did in this movie.
