DVD release in 2007

In an online chat yesterday on Home Theater Forum, a WHV representative said that a DVD release is planned for 2007. Sidney Lumet has already recorded a commentary.

I don't want to wait either, but ... I plan on sticking around for this.

This is probably my all time favorite movie. Not that I am obsessed, but I can quote dialog from this movie.

The next thing to ask will be about the extras and deleted scenes. I recall when they played this movie on commerical television it was over two nights. And I know there are added scenes (one is where Danny tries to run his car into an overpass and another is when he confronts a fellow cop who gave him junk junk for his informant).

Can't wait......

I'm glad to hear that this film is finally on it's way to DVD. One of the finest cop movies ever made. I would love to see some deleted scenes. Too bad we all have to wait a whole year for the release!

The Friends of Eddie Coyle needs to be released on DVD!

Great news. I love this movie and can't wait to hear Lumet's commentary - he is one of my favorite directors!

an amazing movie, realistic and (for a change) not condescending to working class

Its about time this movie is being brought to DVD, this has to be one of the top five police movies ever made.

Other then director's commentary I heard there will also be documentaries on the making of the film and some deleted scenes. It will be a good package. This is one of the last post-1970, well known films yet to be released on DVD.
