why R?
jus wondering why...
shareDid you watch this movie? It's pretty profane.
shareI remember being shocked by the language in this film when it first came out in 1981. I had heard plenty of "language" in movies, but couldn't remember being bombarded by the F-bomb quite as relentlessly. In fact, after all these years, that's all I remember about this film!
shareYou've obviously never seen SLAP SHOT. Had the record for most cuss words back in 1976.
You've obviously never seen SLAP SHOT. Had the record for most cuss words back in 1977.
A PG movie back then ....before 1984.....could maybe say the F word ...once throughout the film.
Any more....boom.....R rating.
PG-13 came about in the mid 80's ...like 1984 or 85....they can say the F word a few more times.
Ya gotta remember....Stand By Me ....which seemed more like an "pre-teen aimed audience" type of movie......was R....because of the language.
This was one of the earlist films that contains pervasive language.
sharejim--your post is an absolute classic.
shareRaging Bull had pervasive language before this, but this Prince Of The City are good examples of early eighties films with a good deal of profanity. It was interesting to hear so much cursing in those earlier films. Sometimes actors just start cursing in improsived dialouge because there are a couple of curse words on the page. However, Sidney Lumet is casual about using profanity himself.
shareLOL! Do you dopes really not understand what "pervasive language" means? What a couple of twits!
sharebecause americans are afraid of the most common word in the world.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for enough good men to do nothing.
the most common word in the world is probably "THE".....I used it twice in a short sentence before putting down a third time in quotations.
share"the" is not a word. its addition to a word.

Applied Science? All science is applied. Eventually.
any thing that uses letters to make up something to say is a word.......it is indeed a word, and a pretty damned common one for what you call an "addition".
