Sorry, but Williams hysterical, screaming performance helped to kill this for me, along with it's stagy feel and the monotonous pace. Some great scenes of New York City is all this has to offer..

The irony is that this is arguably a *Republican* film, if one were to be simplistic.
I mean, it's brilliant, and I'm a leftist who prefers complexity over binary good versus bad/left versus right, but put simplistically, it's a pro-cop film (a pro-*corrupt* cop film, even), and one that features a surrogate for a young Rudy Giuliani as one of the more sympthetic lawyers/prosecutors.
What the hell are you guys on about? How does being a modern day Democrat or Republican have anything to do with liking or not liking this old crime film?
