I have to disagree with you about the movie having no connections with god or the devil...(spoilers)
I agree 100% with having to do with God. But unless you can define "devil" in support to your point, I don't think it have nothing to do in the movie. If I'm not wrong, they are always talking about God, but never about Devil.
Step 1 - masturbate to the image of christ
Right before this scene she said she feel like two sister fighting to exaustion and then (it's really creppy) the neartest close up on her where she don't blink, have dilated pupil and state something like "You stare at me. Look at me, etc". The very next scene there are an high statue of Jesus. He is head down, just like someone he's staring at her except that the statue don't "open the eyes" and look at her. My take is that it's a feminist idea about someone who cannot be respected, acepted or even loved, and the only way she knows to accomplish something, is by sex.
Step 2 - get thrashed around in a tunnel posessed by something either divine or demonic...not sure yet
What makes you so sure that she was "possessed by demons"? I think that she have so much suffering and despite that could lead someone to that Btw, I think that one of the movie ideas is that God and Devil are the same.
Step 3 - misconcieve afterwards in the same tunnel (as explained in the "faith and chance" scene/monologue)
I don't think that the "faith and chance" thing have any relationship with that.
In a way, it's the immaculate misconception, and what she nurtures/brings to life is a variation of the antichrist.
Well, now this one is out of hand. You have assuming thing, make connections, and put it all in a religious perspective. At least edit the "antichrist" part of your post, 'cos it's really stupid.
I am still quite baffled by the ending however.
Now I think you did get it. He talk about God twice (""God is like a disease", "God is the dead dog who..." sorry, I don't remenber the exactly words but in the scene folowed to that, he is in front of the Berlin Wall, a little scary or confused, until he see a dead dog and IMO, it was like a clue to him that "beware, 'cos good is around". He said to his wife take their son and go back to USA, and he arrive a little later, when the WW3
starts. So, I think that the point is that God is bad (the "God is a disease" line).
