The title...

When (and why) did they change the name to "The Spawning"? When I saw it in the early 80's it was called "Piranha 2: Flying Killers".

For some reason, film companies and studios change certain film titles from their initial release (usually in the U.S.) to their release overseas. Coming from Ireland, I grew up watching PIRANHA 2: FLYING KILLERS but once I moved to the States back in the 90's, I noticed the title over here was PIRANHA 2: THE SPAWNING. The same was done back in the 80's when they released ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, in Europe the title was changed to A NIGHT ON THE TOWN.

MGM/UA had originally titled the 16th James Bond movie LICENCE REVOKED but they eventually changed it to LICENSE TO KILL. The reason? They didn't think Americans would know what the word REVOKED meant.
