shareOvidio has attempted to make two versions of Piranha III. This poster is the first attempt. He approached Yoram Globus at Melrose Entertainment (after he left Cannon) to produce Piranha 3. This film was to be set in Cape Town. Piranha appeared in the sea and chomped down on locals. They didn't fly this time. The film wasn't produced because Melrose Entertainment went bankrupt.
Then in the mid-2000's he tried again under his KOA Films label. The film was to be called Piranha 3D: The Invisible Menace. It was to be set at a winter ski resort and an underwater earth tremor released a super breed of chameleon piranha that became invisible. The piranha invade the ski resort swimming pools and eat through the frozen lake, causing most of the resort to collapse into the frozen lake. The film wasn't produced because Ovidio hated the idea of invisible piranha and the re-writes by various people got stupider and stupider.

Sounds corny. Weren't there any rights issues when Roger Corman produced the TV remake? Or did they remake it because they didn't have the sequel rights?
