I am almost certain it is out of print at this point...I have a badly worn cassette tape and the album that I bought on eBay, as well. The music is great (although this is the original music and some of it has been altered in the film) and I, too, wish it was out on CD!

Hi, I have also tried to look for the soundtrack but with no success. Warner Bros Records released the soundtrack to the American adaption (Steve Martin) along with the film in 1981. I happen to think that the American version is a lot better than the original. I have purchased the DVD and also a Helen Kane CD (I wanna be bad song from the musical).

So far (as of this writing in 2005), the soundtrack is still only available as an out-of-print double vinyl record set on Warner Bros. (with a verrrry cool series of photos in the gatefold). I was fortunate to buy it back in 1981 and still love to give it a spin on the turntable! I highly recommend hunting this one down, and it DOES contain Steve Martin's rendition of the title song.

Man, I would love to get a CD of this soundtrack myself! I, too, have the original vinyl double-album, but really want to find a CD as well. ("Love is Good for Anything That Ails You" is awesome!) If anyone has heard of the soundtrack being released, please post! Thanks.

Me too! The dance to "It's the Girl" is my favorite.

I've always wanted to be a June Bride...

"It's the Girl" is available on other CD compilations for the Boswell Sisters. I remember hunting for it a while back, and it was available.

Anyone check any torrent sites for the full PENNIES soundtrack? Even if it's just a transfer from the LP, it would be good to have...
