Audio commentary by Baird Stafford, special effect Cleve Hall, moderated by David DeCoteau
NIGHTMARE featurette contains Baird Stafford, Cleve Hall, and 21st century president Tom Ward
Mondo public service annoucement Interview with Romano Scavolini (in Italian)
HiDef telecine from 2 best 35mm prints
2011 telecine from a recently discovered much better 35mm print
The article mistakenly lists the release date as July 5th, which is instead the street date for The Witchmaker. Nightmare's release date remains 7/26/11.
It might well be out on 26 July but I got mine today, in London!
It's a nice set but I was surprised to find that disc 2 is a DVD-R albeit with a Code Red stamp and "Nightmare Disc 2" written on the disc in thick black marker pen and I'm afraid the recently discovered print is stated to be "slightly" better, not much better. If they've got the specs right according to the back cover, the better print is on the (EDIT)"made to look like" DVD-R.
Here's the details of what's on offer word for word from the back cover.
Disc 1:
-- Bonus 2008 Hi-Def master (1.78:1 (16x9) created from the two best 35mm prints
-- Audio commentary with make-up artist Cleve Hall and star Baird Stafford
-- Full frame color corrected telecine (2005) approved by Romano Scavolini.
-- "Making of a Nightmare" interview with Baird Stafford, Cleve Hall, and ex-distributor Tom Ward
-- "New York Nightmare" interview with New York special effect make-up Edward French
Disc 2:
-- Brand new 2011 telecine 1.78:1 (16x9) from a recently discovered slightly better 35mm print.
-- Uncensored 95min Italian interview from Romano Scavolini in Italian language
--2 different NIGHTMARE trailers
-- CODE RED trailers
What we see as spectacle is in fact a ceremony
I've got my copy of the Code Red release too, and it's not a DVD-R it's a proper DVD.It was just made to look like a bootleg as a joke by Bill at Code Red DVD.
shareHi richwicz
Is that documented online somewhere? Not that I'm disbelieving you, just curious to know if I can read about that somewhere?
What we see as spectacle is in fact a ceremony
I've read it at various horror forums.Knowing how fussy horror fans are don't you think they would be up in arms across the internet if they were given a DVD-R instead of a proper DVD?
shareMost people wouldn't have been fooled since the DVD isn't officially released yet. Or is it? In any event, I got mine well before the release date, so we'll see what happens. But to be honest, given Code Red's track record, I don't think there'd be that much brouhaha over it.
