A sequel

Would have been interesting if they did a sequel, showing DaSilva going back to the force, years after killing Wulfgar. I don't know what sort of a plot they could have done, but if it was made in the late '80s, then it would have been an all-action affair.

I reckon if a sequel to Nighthawks was made in, say, 1983 or 1984, then it would have been just as gritty and realistic as the first one, but it would probably have a different title. It would also be nice to have Billy Dee Williams back as Sly's partner Matt Fox. I reckon the plotline would probably go something like this.

After killing Wulfgar and splitting from Irene, Deke is ashamed of himself and quits the force, despite Matt's pleas. A couple of years later, he decides to re-join the police force when a crime ring in New York spirals out of control and he and Matt have to use their brains and brawn to make the streets safe again.

Or instead of criminals, Deke and Matt can simply just pit their wits against an underground terrorist network which is eventually revealed to be run by Wulfgar's brother (sounds really Die Hard With A Vengeance, doesn't it?). But I reckon a story like that could result in an exciting, action-packed thriller.

Had Nighthawks done better at the box office perhaps a sequel would've popped up in the mid to late 80s.

I think your plot proposed would have been successful, they are both very interesting, especially the one which tells about Wulfgar's brother looking for revenge with a new terroristic organization.

When a movie is successful, producers usually propose a remake and I'm sure it would have been appreciated by fans.
