dvd with original tracks, please?

As you Nighthawk-watchers are well aware, somebody very unwise considered it necessary to replace Keith Emerson's 'I'm a man' with some piece of rubbish that lacks in every way the suspence and atmosphere the original track had. I'm fed up with this newer version, and would very much like to hear the original stuff. Does anybody know where to get it? I live in Europe (different dvd-version)

Arnold,
Amsterdam

I agree. The song they replaced I'm A Man with ruins the scene. The only DVD release, that i know of, which contains the original songs is the 2001 DVD release from Goodtimes Home Video. Unfortunately, unless you have a multi region DVD player, the DVD is Region 1.

Thanks a lot!

I have often listened to people talking about this element but sincerely each time I have seen the movie I have always listened I'M A MAN in that point(in the disco, before the chase.)

The Universal DVD release as well as later video releases do not contain I'm A Man or Brown Sugar. Some television versions also do not contain the songs.

reply

Actually the only official releases that contained the original soundtrack "night club" sequence with I'm A Man and Brown Suger were the Universal Laserdisc and the Goodtimes DVD.

reply

Actaully, there had been a confirmed report that the very first VHS release from MCA Home Video, contained the original songs. Subsequent reissues from MCA Home Video contained the replacement songs.

reply

The original rental videotape did contain the original songs.

Actually I rented one from netflix a few years ago & it was the new sorry version (2004).

Good news: If you go to blockbuster.com they still got the old 1999 dvd version by good times video per 5/18/07, I just rented it, hey what the hell just burn or look for it on ebay as I just bought one for like 10 bucks (there is only a few, most are the new version so be careful).

Big difference (b/c of the music) in the scene at the club!

Godspeed!
