I have just heard talking about this project but Stallone refused this proposal
(this is what I know and what there was written in this site)
If this film ever got remade then I'd be all for Sly directing it. I could picture Ryan Reynolds playing Deke in a remake. Probably because he's usually bearded in his non comedic roles and is in good shape. But a remake would be tough since the original is so good. Although outside of die hard Stallone fans I don't know if many have seen or remember Nighthawks.
Actually, someone asked him about it at a Q&A that Ain't It Cool News was holding, and he said he hadn't considered it, although he liked the idea quite a lot.
