What's the deal with the Blu Ray?

Is it only coming out in Germany, or what? And if that's the case, why? Is there some rabid fan-base for this movie there (as there should be!)? Something tells me it's just going to be like the 2004 universal dvd...I mean the same mediocre cover is a pretty strong hint.

Then again, I'll probably just seek out the "MCA Videocassette" vhs copy...that would be a pretty damn neat thing to have, even with the same old cut ending. It'd be a little more special than say, the goodtimes dvd, at least.

It looks the same as the recent German dvd release; same cover, same company. And we would have heard about it if that had been the original version, so I'm really not hopeful for the blu-ray. That being said, it's quite cheap, maybe worth a gamble?

Early reports indicate it's a poor quality transfer with no difference to previous releases, which suggests that it's still missing the disco music and uncut finale. Best keep hold of that Goodtimes dvd for now!

I have the German Bluray and was disappointed with the transfer through out the picture. It's also only in 1080i not p ..which would have been a dealbreaker for me had I known.

Looks like it's a Blu Ray release that should be avoided.

The recent Blu Ray release also does not contain all of the original songs.
