The man who visits the party, Kenna, is a terrorist associate of Wulfgar - probably a member of the Irish Republican Army. The IRA seems to have contracted Wulfgar to do the London store bombing, and Kenna was the contact person.
Kenna describes how he was picked up by the police and detained for a couple of days. Then Wulfgar sees three detectives arriving outside, and he realizes that they have been trailing Kenna.
Wulfgar kills the three policemen, and then he kills Kenna too - not necessarily because Kenna betrayed him, but because he was careless and thus equally a liability in Wulfgar's view of things.
Never understood why Kenna follows Wulfgar upstairs after he sees the cops; stupid move on his part.
