Sly being jealous of Rutger's performance

Stallone also had a hand in re-editing of the movie. He was jealous on Hauer whose performance dominated the film so during filming he wrote and added more scenes for his character and later he also cut some Hauer's scenes from the movie.

According to the above imdb triva, Stallone's was jealous of Hauer's presence in this film, so made changes to the script to expand his own character. He also allegedly made things difficult for Hauer, during the shooting of some scenes, particularly the climax—which ended up being jarringly cut by the studio and the MPAA for graphic violence, regardless. If Stallone was being self-serving—I don't know if I want to buy wholly into this—then is it possible that Stallone, could be largely responsible for the final cut\edit that ended up getting released and his own ego was to blame for all the tampering on this film?

However, that doesn't excuse Stallone's meddling. He never should have been allowed to tamper with the film at any stage.
______________

On what Rutger's favorite or most memorable performance is of his own: The deepest was Blade Runner (1982), because it was the first time where I just danced with the director and, let's say, the concept and the tone: I understood, on a very strong level, what he, (Ridley Scott) wanted, and by instinct I gave it to him.........This was after an experience on Nighthawks (1981) which was pretty tough and very bureaucratic and difficult. If your creative ideas are strangled, that doesn't work for me. It doesn't mean I have to be right......that's not the point at all.....

If Rutger didn't have an enjoyable experience on 'Night Hawks', due to all the bureaucracy during production—I would interpret this as a nice way of him saying, having to deal with the bull$h!t—and if Stallone's ego and self-entitlement was responsible for much of this; then it would be gracious of him to owe it to Rutger and also fans of this film, an opportunity to view it as was meant to be seen and let Hauer shine as he was meant too.

Stallone is known for messing with the movies in which he is in. Besides Nighthawks, i know that he cut many scenes from Cobra that didn't include his character. And i am damn sure that he had a hand in meddling with many others, like Rambo: First Blood Part 2 which stinks to high heaven like it was re-edited and cut down to be short, fast paced action epic (but i certainly don't mind it if it's true in that case).

Stallone is a short, untrained actor with a horrible accent. Of course he was jealous of Rutger Hauer!!
