I know at one point he had a denim-type on with a bandanna around his neck. It was big in the 80's after-all.

I was a mid 80's teen, lots of "preppies" with Izod shirts, Calvin Kleins, Member's Only jackets and Nike sneakers (which was pretty new). I can forgive the bandanna as it may have been something he normally work at work and put it on out of habit.
There was a lot of fun stuff about this movie, like the bartender who insists on calling most of the patrons *beep* Or the rotund, pipe smoking guy with a bad mustash getting the hottest girl in the group.
