i know my bloody valentine and i think friday the 13th II were part of that, was there any others.

The Burning, The Prowler, and Eyes of a Stranger were all edited (and they all had Tom Savini fx). Not sure about Halloween II, Happy Birthday to Me, or Night School.

Just about every horror movie that was released after the murder of John Lennon (Dec. '80) was severely edited for violence. Hollywood studios were forced to crack down on the amount of murders/gore in their horror films because of Lennon's murder
