Unrated DVD

Does anyone know where to get the unrated or rated X DVD? I heard the R version has some deleted scenes.

Thank you.

bijouflix.com claims to have the uncut version. I haven't seen it, so I can't say personally.

I've seen an uncut version a few years back in England and belive me, you're not missing much. The current R-rated version on Image Video has only about a minute cut from it. In the uncut version, both rape scenes are shortened by about 10-15 seconds each, the first is interupted by a cutaway to the burgular ransacking Thana's apartment (no nudity involved anywhere). Also, the climatic slow-motion, shooting spree is also cut by about 30-40 seconds which deletes a few blood-gushing, splatering bullet hits including a man in a lobster costume getting shot in the thigh.

The film is not available uncut on an official dvd, so you must have bought a bootleg, how is the picture / sound quality ?

"All I can say for the film is that it's without doubt one of,if the finest Ferrara film ever.(Driller Killer and Bad Lieutenant come very close to it).I don't know why Ferrara hasn't gotten the acclaim he truely deserves as a visionary film-maker."

Randybullcow, I agree with you completely. I love DK & BL, but MS.45 is a masterpiece

One of the interesting things about Ferrara is how he has dabbled in every aspect of filmmaking.

He has made arty short indies.

He has made low budget exploitation films.

He has made hardcore porn.

He has made mainstream TV episodes.

He has made made for TV movies.

He has made minor, direct to video films.

He has made at least one major studio film.

He has made truly great art house/independent films. (The ones he's most known for.)

He is now doing a lot of documentary work.

I can't think of another filmmaker who has directed in all of these fields. Especially not the porn and grindhouse stuff. Usually, once you go there, you don't ever become a mainstream filmmaker. This guy shot hardcore and later was directing Walken, Keitel, and Madonna. It's unheard of.

Plus, directing 42nd Street sleaze in the early days made him where he doesn't shy away, like most "legit" filmmakers do. He's now a "legit" filmmaker who doesn't blush directing ruthless, uncompromising material.
