DVD runs longer why???

I have the old 1982 vhs which is 1000 min. but the Anchor Bay DVD runs 102 mins!
I cant tell any scenes with more gore or anything did they add in stuff somewhere or is it just a mistake???

reply

They released the DVD with a few extra scenes. Ive never seen it on DVD, only on VHS about 5 years ago, so I dont know if thats true or not but thats what they claim.

reply

Probably a mistake. In the commentary they mention scenes what were cut down, but nothing about scenes added in.

The full length of the dvd version is 101mims from the prism leisure dvd as i have watch it today.

I purchased the dvd to watch as wached it in the late 80s but i could still recall what would happen and it's the sort of film you would want to have in a dvd collection as all or high percentige of my dvds are all classic films ie the gate 1/ hallwoeen 2 and so on as i am a fan of all old films.

As for remakes they should not do them as i have bought the fog old and seen the remake the remake is a total load off rubish compared to the original as the story is a bit over the top.

If you compare the running times listed on a lot of '80s videotapes to the actual real-time counter on a VCR, you'll discover that the cited running times are frequently a bit off. And then when you get into the whole foreign frame-rate thing, that causes further confusion about running times (a British video of an American film runs a few minutes shorter because the 4% "PAL Speedup"). I sold off my '80s VHS of "Hell Night" eons ago, but I'm relatively certain there's no additional footage on the DVD.
