Remake? Here's a thought...
I have heard the word remake mentioned about Hell Night. In fact, someone on the message boards mentioned something about it, followed by a not so favorable oppinion (of which I agree). Why remake such a classic film? They will only make a movie that falls short of the original Hell Night, but how about this for an idea, which I wish they would have started doing at the beginning of the last decade, as opposed to making generic crap remakes for the past ten years.
Why not digitally remaster Hell Night, clean up the audio a little, maybe even tweek a few things and re-release the film? I'd much rather pay to see the orignal on the big screen than a lesser version done by someone like Marcus Nispel.
It would be a great idea. Think about it. There would not be a $30 million price tag to remake the film, so it would be really cheap. And even better, if cleaned up, the original film, I gaurentee, would do better than any remake, so the movie makes just as much, if not more, with much more profit. And... AND, we thrity-somethings get a chance to watch one of our beloved classics with an audience on the big screen! Win win. Maybe not for production companies, but hey, I'm tired of sitting through five freakin logos before the start of a movie.
