All 3 DVD releases

The original, 1999 release, isn't anamorphic. The 2nd, 2002, is anamorphic, as is the 2008. What I want to know is, is there a difference in quality when the disc is anamorphic, or is it just the way the picture is shown on a widescreen tv? Like, is the picture any clearer in an animorphic transfer? Thanks.

I have the 2003 Prism release, and the picture quality is awful. Looks like a VHS transfer. I wish they would remaster the film and release it on Blu-ray.

The bigger the widescreen tv, the worse the picture will look for an old lower-budget movie like this. So, if you've got a 27''-32'' widescreen tv, it'll fill the screen and look much better than it would on a tv 42'' or larger.

And the 2008 version of Hell Night is a dvd-r--if that kind of thing matters stick with the 2002 release.

widescreen presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16 X 9 TVs.

That's what I got from an email about the 1999 release. But doesn't that mean it's anamorpic?

reply

The 1999 edition is anamorphic. All three are exactly the same DVD, menus and all.
