carpet scene

The scene when marti and jeff are talking in the bedroom and in the background you slowly see the carpet rising freaked me out. It was so subtle, you're watching them and then all of a sudden you're like "Holy S**t!"

I know, it was really creepy!

Yeah that's a wonderful shot. Very subtle - it's little touches like these that really lift Hell Night over the level of 99% of the other slasher muck that surfaced in the 80s. Another great shot is of the killer standing over Denise in bed. He seems abnormally big and it's very creepy the way he's leaning over her. Classic stuff.

That scene made me fill my pants! ;-)

I saw this movie when it 1st came out on the big screen 25 years ago,..& it chilled me pretty good.My favorite scene is the killer hulking over Denise in the bed, but also the carpet scene.

Yeah, Hell Night was awesome. One of the best '80's slashers for sure.

But Friday The 13th Parts 2 and 3 were better in my opinion. Especially Part 3.

this film is head and shoulders above the friday films.I love friday but this hell night is better than all the friay with the exception of part1,2,

reply

Nah Friday the 13th Part 4 was the best. Hellnight is one of the best 80's slasher films too.

i saw that scene as a kid. I was maybe 10 years old. I can't even convey how much that scene terrified me. In fact, the whole movie terrified me....and still does like 30 years later!

And I always thought that James Cameron stole that entire scene and put it in Terminator 2. The scene at the mental hospital when the T-1000 kills Louis the guard.
