Journey's 'Open Arms' actually absent from blu-ray?

Hi fans...can someone check me on this? I used to have the DVD I bought a couple years ago (the only thing I miss from the divorce) but when I recently purchased the blu-ray and viewed the iconic scene that had to be the first ever "love scene" set to "Open Arms" in the "Harry Canyon" chapter, I noticed the scene has no music. None. They're credited in the visual credits, but the audio is completely missing. I really think that song was used in that scene because I found it so hilarious, but I could be wrong. Has anyone else noticed this possible piece of additional music licensing nonsense that continually embroils this movie?

That makes no sense. It just showed on TCM a few weeks ago and "Open Arms" WAS playing in the background. Also, during the closing credits, they list all the stories and the songs and "Open Arms" was listed. I can't figure why the blu-ray wouldn't have it. And you're right it IS very funny:)

The movie's streaming on Netflix without it too. Didn't watch the whole thing but once I realized Journey was missing I sped through to where I thought Cheap Trick played and didn't hear them either.

I just watched it on netflix last night and I heard the Journey song fine.
There aren't any songs missing from the soundtrack. I had a cassette tape of the soundtrack album and I have seen this movie about a dozen times.

Did they possibly mix the song into the surround channels? Maybe people with two speakers aren't hearing it.

or maybe not lol http://www.WorldofBong.com

Nope. Listening to it on Netflix right now. Open Arms is there.

Watching the movie on "Chiller"

I did notice some of the bits of music and sound effects were more prominent in the surround channels so the Journey cut probably just got channelled there and it could be dependent on the particular mode of surround decoding that could make the difference. Mine was set to DTS in this viewing and I did hear the Journey in that scene.

That song meant sex to me as a child.

Just watched the BR and heard it.

The copyright issues with the music in this movie have been absurd.
