Should Have Had a Different Title
The title could have altered the course of the franchise's history. If Carpenter had wanted to do what he originally intended to with the franchise and make it an anthology film series, he would have done, many decades earlier, what JJ Abrams is trying to do with the Cloverfield franchise
But continuing the story of Halloween with a title as simple as "Halloween II" sort of sets in stone the idea that THIS (the story of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers) is what the franchise is about. I know that semicolon titles were not nearly as common way back when, but anything other than a numerical title to the sequel would have helped to emphasize that this was the end of this particular story thread
I'm not lamenting the fact that Michael Myers became = to Halloween, because I did enjoy Halloween 4, 5, 6, and 7 for what they were, but it would have been interesting to see an anthology film series centered around the holiday of Halloween. I mean, Halloween has basically become the day to celebrate the Horror genre, and it would have been interesting to see what other ideas they could have come up with for feature-length films centered around that holiday
