Hi all,
Does anyone remember if this was released in cinemas in the UK, or was it straight to TV/video? (Did we even have home video in 1981?)

Yes it was released in UK cinemas, home VHS was in it's infancy back in 1981 but it would have been released a few years later on video

Thanks a lot for the answer on both this and the similar questions on the Muppet Wizard Of Oz and Very Merry Muppet Movie. You've been very helpful..

I was trying to find a list of muppet movies which received a theatrical release ((not telemovie or straight to DVD) in the UK for a film pub quiz, and wasn't sure about these three. I think I have it now...

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
