Erroneous info about the worm rape

After reading many reviews here and elsewhere, I would like to make one clarification. It was Taafe O'Connell not Erin Moran who was raped by the worm.
Erin Moran was claustrophobic in the movie and was killed later in a tunnel by cables that squeezed her until her body ruptured and her head exploded. You even see Erin Moran discover Dameia's(O'Connell's character)body after the rape.
I wonder how long it has been since the people who write these reviews have actually seen the movie before they write the review. The scene definitely sticks out as does Moran's death later on(very gruesome!!!).

I saw this at the theater 24 years ago, and there are many scenes I still remember well! You are absolutely correct with the way the female characters die. Erin Moran's death reminded me of a tomato being squished!

i saw this in the theater when it came out... and like many people i remembered it incorrectly... I think its mostly because only certain things stuck out in my mind... 1) worm rape, 2) Joanie Cunningham... put those two together in the same context and my mind made the leap that Joanie did a big fat worm... obviously it wasnt her, but that is how my mind remembered it, until i read some of these reviews, and now, i remember it a little more clearly... not much more, but a LITTLE more clearly...

When it was released, I remember that Erin Moran was probably the biggest drawing card. Hard to imagine now, I know, but at the time, Happy Days was still popular and she had been on it for years. When I first heard about the worm-rape scene, I erroneously assumed it was Moran that got it, until I saw the movie on videotape that is, when I was very glad it was O'Connell instead of Moran. I think Taaffe went much further in portraying the scene than Erin Moran ever would have, besides the fact that she's built so much better and was sexy as hell to look at (and listen to!)

But I think a lot of the confusion stems from that initial release and that Erin Moran was supposed to be the "big" star.
